Birthday weekend at the Beach!

This weekend was my 41st birthday weekend and the kids and I spent my birthday at the beach.  Hubby wanted to go fishing, so I didn't make him go to the beach with me....it's not his favorite place to be!  One of these days I'm going to do a beach picture.  I've always wanted to get portraits of my kids on the beach.  Does anybody else love those?  I think they always look so gorgeous!  And we're on the beach all the time.  We have a place right outside of ocean city, and by a "place" I mean a trailer that we keep down there!  It has an attached screen room to it and we're outside all of the time, so really, what else do you need?

I am trying to choose who I should promote as my "Artist of the Week", which will start in July.  I am hoping that it brings more traffic to my blog!

Father's Day Portrait

This is a portrait I just delivered for Father's Day.  I was really happy with the way it turned out - It's not a great picture (taken with a cell phone) but it'll do for display here!  When they came to pick up, the client got teary-eyed, which for an artist is always a good sign.  She said that I captured the personality of the kids so well and she didn't know if she would be able to hold onto it until father's day because she was so excited.  She told me that she kept asking her husband if he wanted his present early and he kept telling her NO!  So, she actually waited until the morning of to give it to him!  He loved it.  She called me later that day to tell me that I am a Rock Star!  Her mother even wants a copy of it to hang in her house!  It is such an exciting opportunity for an artist to be given the chance to draw a portrait.  It's one of my favorite things to do.  So, now I'm onto a new one (this client actually ordered TWO PORTRAITS) and can't wait to see the reaction I get from this one!  Happy Day Everyone!!
